Conjunction privacy policy

Stone Mesa Studio, LLC does not collect, sell, or track data from Conjunction. Conjunction has no ads, no analytics, and no account. Writing is stored on the device. If iCloud is on, writing syncs across the owner's Apple devices through Apple's iCloud1; Stone Mesa Studio operates no servers. Conjunction has no social features, messaging, or public posting. One feature uses the network: image prompts request public-domain artwork from two museums2, as described below.

Summary No data collection, advertising, analytics, third-party tracking, or account. Writing stays on the device and syncs only through the owner's iCloud account, which Stone Mesa Studio cannot read. No writing is sent to an AI.

Notes and diary

Notes and diary entries are stored on the device. If iCloud is on, they sync across the owner's Apple devices through private iCloud storage1, which Apple operates. An optional Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode lock can be set on the diary. The operating system performs that check on the device4, and Conjunction never receives biometric data or the passcode. Turn it off: turn off iCloud for Conjunction to keep all writing on one device. The diary lock can be set or removed at any time.

Image prompts

The image prompt requests public-domain artwork from the Art Institute of Chicago and The Metropolitan Museum of Art through their public image services2. The request contains no account, identifier, or information about the user or their writing. Turn it off: use the word, phrase, framework, and genre prompts, which need no network connection.

Price

Conjunction is free and has no in-app purchases. Version 1.0 offered a one-time unlock, processed by Apple's App Store3. Stone Mesa Studio never received payment details, card numbers, or Apple Account information.

Reminders

Writing reminders are scheduled as local notifications on the device. There is no push server, and Stone Mesa Studio receives nothing. Turn it off: turn off reminders in the app, or turn off notifications for Conjunction in Settings.

No AI

People write and select the prompts. No writing is sent to an AI, used to train one, or processed by any machine-learning service.

Accounts, sharing, and third parties

Conjunction has no account, advertising, analytics, crash-reporting service, or third-party code that sends data anywhere. It has no messaging, groups, or public posting. A note leaves the device only when the owner sends it with the share button, through Messages, Mail, or another app the owner chooses.

  4. Diary lock (LocalAuthentication). The operating system performs the Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode check on the device. Conjunction receives only whether the check passed. ↩

Children's privacy

Conjunction is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.

When this policy changes, the date at the top of this page is updated and the revised policy is posted here.
